58: A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (w/ Morgan Peter Brown)
Friday Jun 21, 2019
Friday Jun 21, 2019
BEHOLD! It's EPISODE 58! Our guest this week is a man of many roles. You may have seen him in Modern Family, XX, All The Creatures Were Stirring, Contracted: Phase 2 or, recently on new show Dungeon Run, available on Caffeine... it's Morgan Peter Brown!
His chosen film? A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master!
It's ANOTHER fourth in the franchise in as many weeks. Sadly, this one is not in space. Rather rooted firmly on terra firma but within the abstraction of dreams! Freddy Krueger's fourth outing is a bit of an oddity. Worth a watch for sure but does it deserve more? Does it deserve love?
The Synopsis is as follows:
Freddy has now killed off all the children of the parents who originally burnt him to death. Now he's starting to kill their teenage friends. Luckily, Alice Johnson, one of the endangered kids, has the special ability to bring others into her dreams. She is the Dream Master, and therefore the only one who can stop the razor-fingered prankster from wreaking more of his murderous havoc.
Please note that this episode contains strong language, conversations of an adult nature and some EXTREMELY Scottish accents.

His chosen film? Demon Wind!
A relatively new introduction to Andy's rotation, courtesy of Anna & The Apocalypse director John McPhail, Demon Wind is...well... Just watch it. That's all you can do here...
The synopsis is as follows:
The strange and brutal deaths of Cory's grandparents has haunted him for years. Determined to discover the truth, he has returned to the desolate region where they lived, along with a group of friends, to try and uncover the mystery.

56: Hellraiser: Bloodline (w/ Graham Skipper)
Friday Jun 07, 2019
Friday Jun 07, 2019
He's back! Yes, welcome to EPISODE 56 in which Andy and Mitch are delighted to be joined once again by the director of Shudder Exclusive Sequence Break, not to mention star of such films as Bliss, The Mind's Eye, Dementia Part II and Beyond the Gates and NOW the brains behind horror pop-up bar Rated R Speakeasy... it's Graham Skipper!
His chosen film? Well it couldn't be further removed from his last appearance when he talked at length about Shyamalan's The Village... This time? Hellraiser: Bloodline!
It's the fourth in the franchise and the difficult "Pinhead in Space" installment. Hellraiser: Bloodline is a time-hopping trip through the generations and, in honesty, possibly the last truly good entry in the franchise. It's also the beginning and end of the franchise, the last released in cinemas and the last with involvement from Clive Barker.
It's also the first film we have done where the director had his name removed, so it's an Alan Smithee joint!
Should you check it out? Absolutely!
The Synopsis is as follows:
Three generations of the same family deal with the consequences of unleashing the forces of hell. In 18th-century France, Paul L'Merchant works as a toymaker until he's coerced into creating a box that serves as a portal between hell and Earth. The box summons demonic Angelique and Pinhead, who -- 200 years later -- hunt down John Merchant. Then, centuries later, Phillip Merchant prepares for a final confrontation.
Please note that this episode contains strong language, conversations of an adult nature and some EXTREMELY Scottish accents.

55: Fright Night (w/ Padraig Reynolds)
Friday May 31, 2019
Friday May 31, 2019
Oh dear. Another potentially divisive episode! It's Episode 55, in which Andy and Mitch are joined by the director of Rites of Spring, The Devil's Dolls, Open 24 Hours and the upcoming Dark Light... It's Padraig Reynolds!
His chosen film? The 2011 remake of Fright Night!
Yes! We are back in remake territory! Just when you'd got over the unpleasantness of Carrie, we are back with this, Craig Gillespie's remake of the beloved 1980's vampire flick. Is it any good? Is Colin Farrell in a vest better than Chris Sarandon in a sweater? Let's find out!
The Synopsis is as follows:
Charley is a high-school senior who's in with the "in" crowd and dating Amy, the most sought-after gal on campus. But trouble enters his world in the form of Jerry Dandridge, a charismatic new neighbor. After witnessing some unusual activity next door, Charley concludes that Jerry is a vampire. Of course, no one believes him. After seeking advice from illusionist Peter Vincent, Charley sets out to destroy Jerry himself.
Please note that this episode contains strong language, conversations of an adult nature and EXTREMELY Scottish accents.
