Monday Aug 27, 2018
Coming at you from Andy's hotel room in London, it's Minisode 17!
Topics include Peter Medak's The Changeling, which has just had a wonderful new Bluray release from Second Sight and the madness of V/H/S 2. Also, we check in on Mitch's progress through the ShockWaves 100!
ALSO, we have another installment of MITCH'S PITCHES!
Due to his well documented ignorance towards films, Mitch is shown a film poster with all titles, taglines etc removed and tasked with attempting to decipher the plot. Will it go well? The poster image can be seen below with the image that Mitch was working from on the left...
Given the kind of "on the go" nature of this week's recording there's no feedback this week, although we will do a doubler next week. On top of that, we announce the guest and film for this week and EPISODE 18!

17: Halloween H20 (w/ Preston DeFrancis)
Friday Aug 24, 2018
Friday Aug 24, 2018
Episode 17 sees Andy and Mitch joined by Preston De Francis, director of Shudder Exclusive and Official Selection of Frightfest 2017, Ruin Me.
His chosen film? Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later!
Directed by slasher stalwart and released in 1998, 20 years after John Carpenter's original (and recently enjoying its 20 year anniversary), Halloween H20 reunites Jamie Lee Curtis' Laurie Strode and her wayward brother Michael Myers for one "final" showdown. The film also stars Michelle Williams, Adam Arkin, Jodi Lyn O'Keefe, Janet Leigh, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and features a first appearance of a certain Josh Hartnett.
The synopsis is as follows:
Halloween H20 picks up 20 years after the second movie with Laurie Strode now hiding out as the head mistress of a posh boarding school in the California hills after faking her own death and changing her name. She is an emotionally traumatised alcoholic wreck, still struggling with the memories of her near fatal encounters with her psychotic brother Michael Myers years earlier, and so is over-protective of her 17-year-old son John. Just when she thought it couldn't get much worse, Myers reappears after laying in hiding for the last 20 years. His target is now Laurie's son who, along with a few teenage friends, ditches a school camping trip for a private Halloween party in the now-deserted school, forcing Laurie into a climactic battle with Myers.

Friday Aug 17, 2018
Friday Aug 17, 2018

His chosen film? White Of The Eye!
Directed by British filmmaker Donald Cammell and starrind David Keith and Cathy Moriarty, White of the Eye is an oddity in the truest sense of the word. Not to be entered into lightly, it is a perplexing, disorienting and frequently baffling foray into the darkness at the heart of a family.
The synopsis is as follows:
A serial killer is on the loose in and around the small community of Globe, Arizona, and housewife Joan White gradually comes to suspect that her opera-loving hi-fi engineer husband Paul might know more than he s letting on...

15: The Incredible Melting Man (Andy vs. Mitch)
Friday Aug 10, 2018
Friday Aug 10, 2018
Episode 15 sees Andy and Mitch guestless again. Shock horror. However, in what has become a time-honoured tradition, find themselves going head to head once more. This time, it's Andy's choice.
His chosen film? The Incredible Melting Man!
A personal favourite of Andy's despite horrific critical response, William Sachs' 1977 sci-fi gloopathon is a film that could be a divisive experience for the hosts. How will Mitch come down on it? Will the pair see eye to eye? Can Andy make the case that there is more to the film than meets the eye? Find out within...
The film stars Alex Rebar, Burr DeBenning, Myron Healey, Ann Sweeny and features cameos from Janus Blythe (The Hills Have Eyes, Death Trap) and Oscar winning director of The Silence of The Lambs, Jonathan Demme. The Incredible Melting Man also features remarkable practical effects from FX maestro, Rick Baker (An American Werewolf In London,Thriller).
The synopsis is as follows:
When spacecraft Scorpio V returns to Earth following a mission to Saturn, two of the crew are dead and the third, astronaut Steve West, is in a critical condition. Critical, that is, until he rises from his hospital bed to bite chunks out of a nurse before escaping into the surrounding countryside. The authorities set about trying to track Steve down before he claims any other victims, but they don t know the really bad news yet - Steve is also highly radioactive!

14: Deep Rising (w/ Stewart Sparke)
Friday Aug 03, 2018
Friday Aug 03, 2018
Episode 14 sees Andy and Mitch joined by Stewart Sparke, director of The Creature Below and Frightfest 2018 official selection, Book of Monsters.
His chosen film? Deep Rising!
Directed by a pre-The Mummy Stephen Sommers, 1998 tentacular spectacular Deep Rising is, put simply, a hoot. It's FULL SCREAM AHEAD in a rip-roaring aquatic monster movie that out Leviathans Leviathan! It's a hard one to hate, even if that old stick in the mud Roger Ebert did include the film on his "Most Hated" films list!
The film stars Treat Williams, Famke Janssen, Sommers regular Kevin J. O'Connor, Wes Studi, Anthony Heald and Jason Flemyng. To watch Deep Rising is to love Deep Rising. Go. Love it.
The synopsis is as follows:
When a band of ruthless hijackers invade the world's most luxurious cruise ship, they're shocked to discover the passengers have mysteriously vanished! But that doesn't mean they are alone! Something terrifying is lurking just out of sight: a deadly force from the unexplored depths of the ocean that begins to snatch the horrified intruders one by one!

13: Johnny Mnemonic (w/ Natasha Kermani)
Friday Jul 27, 2018
Friday Jul 27, 2018
Episode 13 sees Andy and Mitch joined by Natasha Kermani, director of Imitation Girl.
Her chosen film? Johnny Mnemonic!
Based on the short story by William Gibson and almost universally critically lambasted, Robert Longo's 1995 cyberpunk courier caper, Johnny Mnemonic sees Keanu Reeves (at his handsomest and in the midst of his 90's hot streak), joined by Dolph Lundgren, Dina Meyer, Ice-T, Henry Rollins, Takeshi Kitano and a fucking dolphin in a film that simply has to be seen to be believed.
Andy doesn't like it. Natasha does. Could there be fireworks? Can Andy be convinced? Find out inside!
The synopsis is as follows:
In the 21st century the information superhighway has developed so far that cyberspace is the norm for all business and personal dealings. Information has become so important that to shield the most delicate files from cyberspace hackers, the data is transported in the heads of Mnemonic couriers. Johnny is the best of the bunch, but this time the raw data he carries is so sensitive that he is being pursued by many interested parties, and his failure to deliver the information will hand him the ultimate lateness penalty.
