7: The Village (w/ Graham Skipper)
Friday Jun 15, 2018
Friday Jun 15, 2018
Fresh from the woods of Burkittsville, Maryland, Andy and Mitch are thrown right back into the world of leafy horror for EPISODE 7, only this time, they find themselves in Covington, Pennsylvania!
Their guide on this journey? Sequence Break director, Graham Skipper
His chosen film?
The Village.
Following the runaway success of his first three movies, The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable and Signs, director M. Night Shyamalan returned with The Village, a 2004 rural thriller-cum-romantic drama featuring a twist that divided audiences...
The synopsis is as follows,
Covington is a small rural Pennsylvanian village locked into an unusual pact: beyond the village boundaries lurk terrifying creatures, but these creatures have agreed to stay outwith the villagers' territory so long as the villagers do not enter the woods. However, this precarious arrangement is challenged when Lucius Hunt, a bold and curious young man, decides to find out what lies beyond the narrow borders of his hitherto confined existence.

This week's guest is one of the hosts of the always exellent Podcast Under The Stairs, Mr. Duncan McLeish.

Rawhead Rex.
Based on a short story by Clive Barker which appeared in Volume 3 of his Books of Blood series, George Pavlou's 1986 rubbery creature feature is truly a sight to behold. Will you join Duncan in the "LOVE IT" camp or Barker himself in the "LOATHE IT" camp?
The synopsis is as follows,

With the seemingly unstoppable creature cutting a bloody swathe through the countryside, American historian Howard Hallenbeck is faced with the task of putting Rawhead back into the ground for good.
