Ophidiophobes beware! Episode 39 sees Andy and Mitch joined by the co-director of Slaughter Movie House, the director of short films Call Girl, The Stylist, 42 Counts and the upcoming One Last Meal (starring former guest Matt Mercer), it's Jill Gevargizian!
Her chosen film? ANACONDA!
Emerging from a time when big monster movies were all the rage (see Lake Placid, Godzilla etc), Luis Llosa's 1997 jungle thriller is a scaly delight. With a cast that features Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, Owen Wilson and a truly "has to be seen to be believed" performance from Jon Voight as Cajun priest turned poacher Paul Serone, Anaconda is a film well worth your time. Sssssss-eek it out!
The synopsis is as follows:
Filmmaker Terri Flores is traveling deep in the Amazon jungle looking for a forgotten tribe. Terri and her crew, which includes an anthropologist and a cameraman, come across Paul, who is stranded on the riverbank. He offers to help them find the tribe, but his secretive behavior puts everyone on edge. They realize too late that he's using them to find a legendary anaconda that's worth a fortune -- if they can catch it.
