With their harrowing trip into The Village behind them, what horrors now await Andy and Mitch as they coninue their odyssey through the world of critically maligned films?
Episode 8 sees our intrepid adventurers joined by Lawrie Brewster of Hex Studios, director of Lord of Tears, The Unkindness of Ravens, The Black Gloves and the upcoming Automata!
His chosen film?
In The Mouth of Madness.
Director John Carpenter follows up Memoirs of An Invisible Man and Body Bags with In The Mouth of Madness, his Lovecraftian opus which many consider his last great film. Starring Sam Neill, Jurgen Prochnow, Julie Carmen, David Wrner and with an appearance from Charlton Heston, In The Mouth of Madness is a superb mind-melter from one of the true Masters of horror.
The synopsis is as follows,
John Trent, an insurance investigator recently fitted for a straightjacket, tells his story to a psychiatrist. Hired to track down the missing pop-horror phenomenon Sutter Cane, a Stephen King-like author whose fans are literally mad for his books, Trent finds the supposedly fictional Hobb's End. He watches the town collapse into madness, murder and monstrous transformations: the fantastic horrors of Cane's novels played out in front of his eyes.
